Walk & Talk Therapy in Toronto

There's something about sitting across from another person that can make honesty harder. Being looked at while you try to find the words is its own small pressure, and for some people it never quite stops being one.

Walking changes that. There's somewhere to put your eyes. The pauses feel less like something to fill. And moving forward physically has a way of loosening things that sitting still keeps in place ~ nervous energy gets somewhere to go, and thoughts tend to come out less rehearsed. It tends to suit people who think better in motion, who feel exposed by eye contact, or who carry a restlessness that a chair makes worse rather than better. And people who simply want to try something different, which is reason enough.

We meet at an agreed spot and walk a route chosen for quiet, usually through High Park or along the waterfront. The pace is gentle ~ this isn't exercise, it's a conversation that happens to be moving, and we can slow down, sit on a bench, or stop entirely if something needs your full attention. Sessions run 50 minutes and cost $180.

It's the same therapy. Same training, same approaches, same confidentiality. Just outside.

Every living thing has to come apart to grow.

Where we walk. Usually High Park or along the Toronto waterfront ~ both have long quiet stretches away from the busier paths. Some people find the woods easier for the harder conversations and the water better for thinking out loud. We'll pick whichever suits you, and you can change your mind.

Confidentiality outdoors. We'll talk about this properly before we start. I choose quiet routes, keep distance from other people, and we can pause if anyone comes close. It's a genuinely different setting from a closed room, and you should decide with that in mind.

Weather. We walk in most conditions, but if it's unsafe or unpleasant we'll move the session online rather than lose it. I'll always be in touch in good time.

You don't have to choose. Plenty of people mix it ~ some weeks outside, some weeks indoors or online. We can decide as we go, based on what you need that week rather than what we settled on months ago.
