Sometimes the most grounding thing you can do is step outside. If sitting face-to-face in an office has ever felt too still, too intense, or simply not quite right for you — Walk & Talk therapy offers something different. A chance to move through your thoughts the way you might naturally move through the world: forward, at your own pace, with support beside you.
Walk & Talk sessions take place outdoors at High Park in downtown Toronto, combining gentle movement with meaningful therapeutic conversation. Same depth. Same care. Just a different kind of space to do the work.
Walk & Talk Therapy in Toronto
Walk & Talk therapy tends to resonate with people who feel more like themselves when they're moving. It can be especially supportive if you're navigating anxiety that makes stillness feel uncomfortable, if you've felt stuck — emotionally, mentally, or in life generally — and need a shift in perspective, or if you're drawn to grounding and mindfulness but find it hard to access sitting down.
The outdoors has a natural regulating effect on the nervous system. For many people, movement and fresh air create just enough ease to say things they haven't been able to say indoors.
Who This is For
Sessions are 50 minutes and take place at High Park, with a meeting spot confirmed ahead of time so there's no added stress on the day. You don't need to prepare anything or know what to say before you arrive — just show up, and we'll walk from there.
The pace is gentle and guided by you. There's no pressure to keep moving if you want to pause, and no agenda beyond the work we're doing together. Conversations flow naturally with movement, and many people find they open up more easily outside than they ever expected.
Walk & Talk therapy is available for individual clients only, weather permitting.
One important note: your first session will always take place virtually or in-office. This gives us space to connect, understand what you're working through, and make sure Walk & Talk is the right fit before we take it outside.
What to Expect
The Therapeutic Side
This isn't a walk with a friend — it's a full therapy session held in a different environment. The same evidence-based approaches used in individual therapy apply here: somatic awareness, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and psychodynamic exploration. Nature simply becomes part of the therapeutic container.
Walking side by side, rather than face to face, can actually reduce the intensity of difficult conversations — making it easier to go deeper without feeling exposed. For people managing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or a persistent sense of being stuck, that shift in dynamic can be quietly transformative.
